Our History

Madsen Specialties, a Fargo North Dakota based company, was established in 1974 by Ronald “Skip” Madsen. I, Jeff Brusseau, started working for Skip in 1985 striping railroad crossings throughout the state of South Dakota. From there I began tennis court surfacing and roadway striping. Three years later I moved up to a foreman position and continued working for Madsen Specialties while attending College at NDSU. In 1994, Skip decided he wanted to retire from this part of his life and sold me the business. I continued to operate the business under the Madsen Specialties name until 2013 when the decision was made to start operating under the corporate name JB Surfaces.

Our Work

JB Surfaces / Madsen Specialties has been sealcoating parking lots, patching asphalt, surfacing tennis courts, running tracks, and just about anything you can bounce a ball on for the past 35 years. We always strive to be dependable while providing quality products and services.
